Do You Ever

Do You Ever…..find that even when there is chaos all around you, there is still great beauty and calm…if only you are willing to see it.

1_6-7-11.jpg
Do You Ever …..experience such a wonderful surprise through a child’s eyes & heart?
( the other day Gus came home and on his own made a jar to collect money to help victims
from Japan, mind you Gus is 5…)

2_6-7-11.jpg
Do You Ever….keep the small broken , lovely bits of something you once treasured?….
(It really is just stuff, and certainly not worth any level of explosion in my world.)

3_6-7-11.jpg
Do You Ever wonder how a creature so lovely ,soft ,sweet and furry can also be so very, very malodorous?

4_6-7-11.jpg
Do You Ever see stacks of books growing around your house like stalagmites…..
and find yourself peeling one off to read?
5_6-7-11.jpg
Do you Ever give CHEERS to those you love?

Cheers to YOU!
xx
T.

Good morning T and Durls! I miss the wonderful clutter left behind by little children….especially their found “treasures”. Just have to wait for grand children one day. Amber does still leave me blossoms, fresh and dried in places she knows I will see them, when she comes home for a break.
And my favorite toast of all time is “to our children, and our children’s children”
Hugs, r

I thought I was the only one who kept bits of broken things. My 5 and 3 year old, leave trails of themselves all over the house. My daughter loves to arrange little still life vignettes on top of the radiator cover in the hallway. It usually consists of her favorite number boards, a heart shaped block, and a book or two. She is a creative soul :)
My son enjoys pulling the petals off the roses in the garden. He is full of mischief these days! Kids keep you on your toes for sure, but that’s what makes it fun. Have a wonderful day Tracy!

So true. My best friend and I were talking about her tendency to control and have everything perfect. My perspective is… I prayed for the day my house would be a mess with toys and noisy from all the laughter and playing. That’s what make your house your home!
I love Gus’ little jar. That is so precious!

yes I do! I have seen our Tibetan Mastiff act just that way – and I have broken bits from a few things still – just because –
I love your analogy of the stalagmites – that is hilarious and SO TRUE! I am today reorganizing our bookshelves – going for another look – not sure what – but amongst the sure chaos of my day with 97* it’ll sure be one to remember :)

xo!

Cheers to you! I love your blog. Beautiful sentiments–I do keep bits of things I love that have broken. I wonder how my sweet, wonderful Corgi can leave so much hair around my house? He is not malodorous though thank goodness. Looking for moments of calm in my busy and cluttered day….
