Oh how lovely!!! Of course, I will tell my friends and family! who wouldn’t want a perfect little gem like this. Selfishly, yes, I must be honest…..not one to deceive. I would keep her for myself. The color is divine and summery good. In the words of Dr. Seuss….”Oh, the Places you’ll Go.” I have been needing a new handbag, and just haven’t found the right one. Well….here it is!! Best of luck to all, and yes, I will spread the word. I feel sure that my friends will feel equally passionate that they would look so stylish with this little number on their arm!!
Much love and thanks for the give away.

Hello Tracy…..new fallen snow and my world is a soft presence…..so to you I give a little whistle and as JC would say…..let your conscience be your guide….XOXOXOX……

This purse is so wonderful and I love that it has your name on it…..remember what LadyDi said about aura colors…………each person has a nature that can radiate colors, but only some people can see them…..RED…Red is used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood spilt in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger…. Examples of this are found in the flags of ALL NATIONS……In Christianity, red is the liturgical color for the feast of martyrs, representing the blood of those who suffered death for their faith….Red catches people’s attention, and can be used either in a negative way to indicate danger and emergency, or in a positive way in advertising to gain more viewers, or in nature, as a ripe fruit announces its readiness with its red color…. Studies have indicated that red carries the strongest reaction of all the colors…AND SHARON NASHVILLE…YOU will like this one the Chinese say IT IS the color of..courage, loyalty, honor, success, fortune, fertility, happiness, passion, and wealth, beauty…..SO if I had this RED BUCKET LIST…..I would give it to my Step-daughter….she is a wounded 46 year bird…..who needs to know and have this RED….radiate from her….so she can mend….and be productive, postive and KNOW THERE IS AND CAN BE A FUTURE!!!!!~~~~

HUGS TO ALL AND SMELLING THOSE CHEESEBURGERS….HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!+++++++

OH FORGOT……….I AM SENDING UP THE AIRPLANES WHO WRITE IN THE SKY…..SINGING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS…..over the roar of the engines……as I WRITE not my name but….WENDY’S NAME…….she needs the energy………..she needs this purse….for her bucket list of dreams…to know she can conquer….ANYTHING….I will put nibbles of wisdom and words, arms or warmth….so her brain will not be numb anymore into this RED PURSE EACH DAY…dropped in when she is not aware…folded notes with tiny bows tied around it and a smell of goodness!!!………………..

Are you kidding me? That bag is so cool! At a loss for words. So much more girlie than I am, I would surely keep her to make me feel so lady like. Though I may lend her to my big sis, the ultimate shoe and purse girl, as she would be envious! This is as awesome of a bag as the gorgeous green one you had a while back. The red is superb! Almost a shame that there is only one!

Ok, I would be carrying this bag – in opera – on my trip to Santa Barbara in March!! My husband and I and our two daughters (Samantha age 4 and Alexandra age 11) are spending one whole week in Santa Barbara inspired by Tracy’s trip to the Bacara Resort last year! We haven’t taken a vacation like this EVER! Really, this is a once in a liftime trip for our family and we are all over the top excited about it! (My oldest daughter has a countdown on the fridge!) Of course BEFORE booking the flight and making reservations I called the store to make sure they would be open that week – I talked to George, who was so sweet by the way, who said that they plan to be open, but even took my number in case something happened and they would not be open for some reason! I wasn’t able to make the fall gathering, but I figure this will be the closest thing! I would christen this bag on the trip and carry in it all the essentials needed, especially my camera to take plenty of pictures to share with everyone, including all of you girls on the blog! Winning this bag would definitely be the icing on the cake for me! xoxo

I would give this lovely red bag to my younger sister who
just found out she is pregnant with her second baby (secretly hoping for a girl…we have all boys) …maybe the red will be the luck we need! It will be her second baby both under the age of two and she is in her young 40′s!
The other day she was complaining about carrying her 15month old…while lugging a huge diaper bag. I told her she needed a smaller….more stylish bag to carry the few necessities. Don’t you just think this luscious red bag is what she needs?…I do!

ok… this is meant to be. the name of my freelance design business is Ruby Sky Design and this bag is exactly the color of a gorgeous sky at sunset. Aaaannd, these are my absolute most favorite two colors in the world: that beautiful persimmon orangey-red and turquoise. they’re all over my house. Plus, and this is a big plus at the moment, this bag fits my requirements for any must have bag at the moment: large enough to hold some diapers, wipes and bottle for miss Gemma when we’re on the go and still be fabulously stylish. I need this bag!! (and just why is this beauty one of a kind and not available to the masses??!?!? just a sample that was made? I’d say it needs to go into production, judging from everyone’s response to it!!)
HEATHER – love the Steve Martin/Thermos quote. :) ah, how i love that part of the movie.

I think you should give it to someone who is going to keep it and carry it with pride, with the logo showing… and talk about it and spread the word about our Tracy and about how she got the purse. Someone who will tie a scarf around it and thinks it goes with everything. Someone who cuddles it with love like it’s her baby. If you give it away to one who is going to give it away, it could end up in a closet unused, unappreciated, uncared for…and that would be a shame. Lolo, I know you love your step daughter and want her to be different than she is….but that’s an inside job and all the love in the world is not going to change that. She’s gotta wanna change. You have such a big heart and you want her to enjoy her one life more and be happy, but all you can really do is love her the way she is. It’s out of your control. You deserve the bag, but please keep it for yourself. xoxoxo

Tracy, I received the beautiful clogs yesterday – ooh la la – I just wanted to sleep in them! Gorgeous. Everything is so well presented on your website (pictures, videos) but nothing is like seeing the fabrics in person. Wish I lived near one of your stores! Also, I have mentioned before that I have looked for years to find clothes like yours…..but I have also searched for years for the perfect margarita recipe. It is a constant joke in my family. There she goes again, experimenting with margaritas. So please tell John he is my other new best friend. Tried them last night – oh yeah kudos to the margarita king! I can finally be a peace!
Took my granddog, Norman the puggle, on a delicious walk this a.m. Our golden retriever died two years ago so we basically share custody of Norman with my daughter! We just tell him it is time to go to Gran’s summer camp, Christmas camp, etc. Anyway, a morning walk with a furry friend is like heaven to me. I love anything animals. I decorate my house like an animal, I dress like an animal (mostly leopard). My Dad is always asking me if I will ever get tired of leopard. I tell him only if someone extracts my soul! ha So the morning walk is a time to reflect on the day spiritually and what I want to accomplish. I try to think of one nice thing I want to do for someone whether it is just a phone call, a note, email, whatever. While walking I was also thinking of how wonderful it would be if all people enjoyed the simple pleasures like dogs do. I was reminded of Fascination Inspiration and I decided that even dogs enjoy fascination in their own way so I decided from now on I will tell (no sing) to Norman that we are going on his Fascination Elimination walk. Because that is truly what gets our furry friend going – marking, marking, marking. I don’t know how he holds so much in that little tank of his.
So you see, Tracy, you are implanted in my brain now. I play you over and over like a favorite song in my mind.
Do have a glorious day! Oh, the bag is oh so Tracy. Definitely rocks!

Turquoise earrings in the box,

Oh yes I can! The beautiful purse,

good morning. that bag is fabulous. i still remember my first pair of patent leather shoes and they were in red– after that anything shiny, with fresh colors seems to fly into to my closet ( or my mom’s). I love to buy her fun items she would not buy for herself. anyway, this purse goes wonderfully with a jacket i bought from tracy porter ( on sale) a few years ago. long duster in turquoise, reddish flowers along the side. you really don’t what to know what I actually carry sling over my shoulder now ( old and beat up leather backup), but it works.
happy friday,love your stuff!

Good morning everyone.. What a wonderful day in California with the gift of snow in the foothills. A rare treat.
Tracy, your purse is so beautiful and immediately reminded me of my sweet mom. Her birthday is around the corner and she will be 93 years young! I truly mean that in every sense of the word. Among all her other activities and clubs she belongs to, she also is a member of a local tap dancing troupe. The ladies perform in our area at various senior centers and fair events. Her spirit and energy are contagious and so incredible to everyone that meets her. My husband always tells her that he married me to get to her! She loves that! I would definetly give this beautiful bag to her because it perfectly reflects her energy and love of fun! She has been talking about needing a new bag to take with her to dance practice. This one would be the talk of the “Senior Flappers” troupe! A blessed day to all and a fantastic weekend!

OOOOH Tracy! Seeing this luscious color of orange just gave me an idea…so
We are on the hunt for a few more bright colored bags to haul in the filled plastic eggs too!! And the art supplies that I convinced all my artist friends to donate for the cause…I cannot wait for the “Brightly colored Bag Brigade” to bring on some smiles!

Mr. Yeats captures my sentiments about Red in one of his poems. He has no financial means to buy his lady gems + purses, but he offers his most prized possession at the time, to his true lady love….his raw, unfettered dreams…”…tread softly because you tread on my dreams….”

I’m dreaming of capturing the eye of my true love, as I am walking the promenade showcasing Lady Red on my arm. Who could resist such a display…now or in centuries past? Me think-eth nobody can resist such a jewel!

Strange how a small thing like a handbag ,hat, coat or blouse in red can make the difference.

Oh what luscious things I could put in this bag! Nice and roomy to hold my journal and sketchbook. Yes, I carry them around where ever I go…jotting down my thoughts and cool ideas that I see on my adventures. Even have a little zebra striped, glittered pencil case that holds my art pens. Zebra would go well with the orange bag, don’t you think ladies? Of course it could hold all the usual things we ladies carry – gum, lipstick, credit cards, cell phone, etc. Boring. Would rather find room for more journals, markers, pens and the like…a traveling art and design bag!

tracy…i have loved your style for a long time…i would give this amazing bag to my daughter, whitney…she would love and cherish it…she is a first year teacher and just found out that all first and second year teachers across the board in her district will not have a contract renewed…such a great middle school teacher she is, full of vibrant energy to give to middle school kids…this bag is totally her and her bright spirit…she would wear it well!

Be still my heart! I know it sounds greedy but of course I would have to keep it! I don’t buy new purses, just thrift store, and sometimes I re-purpose them into a new bag with fringe etc (thanks to TP for her great idea).
I keep looking for an area in the house to paint orange and there just isn’t one, so I would just have to wear it!

I would of course tell all my friends but would likely gift it to my beautiful, fashionable 21 year old daughter. Good thing is , she’s a good sharer !!

I am a new mother of a 4 month old little boy named Jenson.
Whom I love more than words. But being a new mommy can leave a girl feeling a little drab.
This purse would certainly put a little bounce in my step.
(It could also double as one super stylish baby bag/purse.)
Just a thought!

I would so proudly carry her, and to be THE ONLY ONE!! What a privelage it would be! If she does show up on my doorstep, just rest assure she will be taken greatly care of and she will never be LONELY!!!
Have a great weekend,

Dear Tracy,

This is the most beautiful piece I have seen on your website ever…every item speaks to a heart, and you have captured mine because of it’s glorious colour inside and out, these are my signature colours…and I know my friends would exclaim….”that is SOOOOO Jacquie!” because of it’s classic and refined lines….and yet still able to stand out from the crowd….I need a little sunshine and joy…having just lost my mama and her extraordinary light…..

Why just one I wonder?? Surely a bag like this needs to grace the arms of a few lovelies….

Madame Butterfly bag!!!

Love to you….

Tracy~ Over night, a thin layer of freshly fallen snow has befallen on our nest of the woods. That fluffy layer just barely covers long spears of daffodils that have been well above the earth a good six inches, some have wee buds just begging to burst forth! I have been sorely teased of springtime’s essence. This bag richly recalls the earth’s awakening … a glorious earthen hue … and this little number would go splendidly with my new Utopia duster!! Sorry, I would be most selfish and keep this gem for myself! :) )))
Wishing you a weekend overflowing in peace …

Lordy, lordy, now I’m forty.
Stumbled on beautiful TP dishes, inspired me to finally learn to cook somthing delicious.
I love bright colors and Tracy’s take on fashion, and after all these years it as become my passion.
I own all of her decorating books, and found ways to enhance my house’s looks.
Tracy’s ideas have released my creative soul, to explore a world I was blind to before.
Mary Poppin’s bag was full of magic, and if I don’t win this bag it will be tragic.

Hi Tracy,
It’s cheeseburger Friday!!! Yeah. The bag is fabulous. I love it and although I’d love to keep it for myself I would give it to my older sister. She’s turning the big 50 and dreading every minute of it. My other sister and I are surprising her and flying down to Texas to take her out on the town. Spa, mani, pedi – the works. She never does anything for herself and is the kind of woman who would give you the shirt off her back and the last nickel in her pocket. She doesn’t have very much money and never asks for anything. She’s creative, giving and a fabulous mother. I want to make her birthday special.
Laura
PS: My new adventure is starting soon. I’m going to another agency in Chicago that’s a start up. It’s been quite successful so it’s could be an amazing adventure. It was a nerve racking decision to make but I’ve made the leap. Thanks for the inspiration! Have a great weekend.

I have been working really hard, back to school in my 40′s to become a teacher. Carrying this spicy handbag would be an enchanting change from a backpack of books. I was just thinking the other day OH how I regret never purchasing the kelly green croco bag you sold a couple of years ago!!!! I need to add a spark to my neglected grey/black attire and toting this gem is the ticket back to the land of inspirational color!!!!!! Oh I can only dream…. As a music and theatre critic who stashes programs in an ugly tote (hate the tote, love the programs), I would love to befriend this bag. She would travel on my arm, out on the town at night to be oohed and aaahed over by many.

BTW: Missy Le Handbag would be photoed and bragged (oops, I mean blogged) about to 4300 FB friends and a lot of blog readers. :-) Just sayin’

Tracy, your books are in a special spot on my bookcase as inspiration when my own creativity is low. They never fail to bring a smile and get the ideas flowing. Thanks for sharing your artist self with us!!! Love your work and play.

OH, TRACY!!! I’m about to cry here. I just posted on WHY I would LOVE this gorgeous red and turquose purse, and how I never try to win anything, and would never resort to begging or getting on bended knee to have something from a give-a-way,BUT THAT THIS awesome TP purse is so pulling on my heart strings, I LOVE< LOVE< LOVE it….and of course, AS I DO ALL of my TRACY PORTER bags…I would soooooo show this bag off. I took the big orange travel tote to France last summer. I drool over the green bag I have with the purple lining….SOOOO I am one who truly appreciates the lining as much as anything……to have RED & TURQUOISE together, my two fav colors, as I've mentioned before on a post here….well, "BE still my heart!!!" Anyway, I poured my heart out and then hit the "post" button and it said "THere was an ERROR and couldn't post my first comment try!" I just about cried because it was the perfect post to win your heart over. ;-) And now I am trying one more time to post. Anyway, I would appreciate, and love this as much as YOU do. I will show it off proudly. And RED looks great on moi. It's my color! :-) For the first time ever, I'm actually uttering…."Please choose me!" I only do that because I reeeeally LOVE this purse.

I HOPE whoever you choose LOVES it as much….and well, How fun and lovely and lucky they'd be to have it.

BTW, My birthday is Mar 5. Hey, A birthday gift from Tracy?!!

Thank You, TRACY for your generosity to your readers, and fans!

Is it just me? I see a tantalzing, juicy citrus orange! The kind that sets off those juices that come pouring into your mouth when you imagine something succulent and sweet (and just a tad sour…it makes the sweet sweeter!)I am a TP fan and longtime customer that has enjoyed watching the show from a window seat…reading the blogs and imagining where everyone sits when they write in, what is next to them…a cup of spiced plum tea (herbal and a kiss of death to my afternoon as it makes me forget whatever was on my “to do” list that day!). I would carry this citrussy gem myself–I’ve so loved responding to comments about all of my TP favorites—of course, fun to get a comment but a tasty opportunity to share what I clearly see as the REAL reason TP exists…to help women to know that they are unique, that they are creative and spiritual and ENOUGH…just by being and loving all those in their lives. That is our gift to the world..that we love so much and give so much—this bag? For me.. because I KNOW someone will comment and then I get to direct another woman to more of TP…where they will surely fall in…and amongst the color, the texture, the playful feathers and bits of treasure…find joy in being what they already are…my TP things are simply “the hook”…there is more there than meets the eye…

I clicked my way to this site on one of my circuitous journeys through the web and am so happy to have found it. This bag is beautiful and would make my daughter very happy. She is still carrying an old tote that I got her two Christmases ago from Kohl’s. It is turquoise so I know that she would love this. If she doesn’t, I will, but being the selfless mother that I am, I will offer it to her first. IF I win, of course. Love your blog and site. I am happy to have found you.

Oh my. I have loved your web site for years. One of the first unsolicited catalogs to arrive at my door, which I was actually THANKFUL for, when I looked inside and found a designer who appeared to be nesting inside my own head! My dining light fixture, an amazing find a few years ago, is a source of constant compliments from visitors to my home. As are the clothes I can’t seem to stop buying…

Yes, I confess, I would probably keep this gorgeous bag for myself! After all I did give my mother the beautiful Icon bag I found on sale last year, and it was hard to part with, so it’s my turn now. I need the RED/ORANGE bag, because of the political problems here!!! I am soon to be very VERY short of cash because of cut-backs, etc. in the education field. (OK, OK, it was worth a shot, low as it is, I thought I would try to use this) I have purchased other TRACY PORTER bags, and I would love this one. I am not beneath saying, I would be a poor loser this time!!!! PICK ME! PICK ME!!!! My email I use here is different then the one I have on account with TP co. so, I hope you know that I have been a very good, sweet, and cute customer. PICK ME PICK ME!!!! Oh, how lovely this would look on my arm! I will call her Tracy! She will look beautiful next to all of my other handbag family! They can sit together and tell fabulous stories of all the adventures I take them on. She will enjoy the adventures but also the time she spends nestled with my other bags, tucked cozily into sleeper bags on a special shelf.

The exact color I’ve been craving! Places for kid snacks, seed packs, found treasures and whatnots. And so nicely sized as I am tall and also like to carry half the world around with me. I think I’ll have to print out a photo for my board and do a positive meditation. Hummmmmmmmmmm….GOOD VIBRATIONS!

I’ll throw in the wallet, lipstick, sunglasses(big ones of course – to match the bag)and in all it’s glory it will undoubtedly have some goldfish for my little guys to snack on, maybe some raisins and then wipes and a diaper will be a must as well. So when I heard her talking about this purse I knew I had to try to get it for her! Plus she’s a knockout and this purse would look rockin’ awesome hanging on her shoulder!

memememe! (faux opera) Oh, how I would love this bag for myself!
I have always loved and appreciated bags from the time I was a teeny tiny little girl. I remember traveling to Harrisburg, the nearest city, to shop with my mom (she was a bag girl as well). She would let me pick something out, and it was always a little handbag. Usually a little shiny patent number. I would hold my new handbag, just staring at it-all the way home. Still totally adore bags, although my taste has changed a little bit from way back when. Reeeeealy love yours!!

The second I opened up the link, I knew I was looking at a bag that was meant to live with my mother. She is the most passionate, caring person I have ever met and I know that I wouldn’t be the strong woman that I am today had she not been the one to raise me. However, recently she has lost a lot of that passion for life. After 25 years of marriage, my father decided that he didn’t want to be around any more and just moved out and several states away. Now my mother is left having to rebuild a life she feels like she is to “old” and “washed up” to create. This is totally untrue; and with items like this, and family around her, I believe we can help her to go out and enjoy life again. I mean, who couldn’t help but feel sexy and carefree when carrying around something so bright and wonderful? And if anybody deserves it, that would be my mother.

The Girl from Ipanema I will never be, but with that bag on my arm I would be as happy as an orangutan swinging from an orange tree in an orangery. If I were a fairy, I would shake my orangestick under the shimmer of an orange colored moon and send one of these beauties to all of us. But alas I am not a fairy. Just an ordinary person sitting by my frosted windowpane, dreaming of color for my gray winter skies. (Orange and gray go so beautifully together, don’t you agree?)

So glad to get the color cleared up because it looked like TIBETAN RED to me the whole time…like the pantry… no… more orange than that, but not ruby red. If this was a test to see if this is a marketable product, I think the answer is YES! Lololo luv, I didn’t know you were dealing with her mental illness, bipolar…. that’s a whole other subject…. and the most difficult thing there is ever EVER! I still think you should keep the beautiful bag. However, that 93 year old tap dancer sorta caught my eye…and then there’s Gemma’s mom…and so many other worthy owners of the purse.

Celestial Goodness, this citrus, delicious, vibrant orange beauty is!!! Invigorating, and awe inspiring, just the pick me up any girl would need after a long, snowy, cold white winter!
More snow yesterday, and I fish-tailed 3 times in the car while driving my girls to and fro!
I would have to say that I would keep this beauty if won, happy birthday to me… a big one coming #49, my last one I will admit to!
I have paid it forward 3 times this week, in big ways wondering why this week demanded so much generosity of spirit, and mind. I lost a beautiful heirloom piece, and I could just respond with a big hug and warm smile, and the understanding that it was an accident. This bag would be shared with my 3 girls when they are old enough, who would simply love this and swoon over it. This would be my new heirloom piece to pass along to them and they would delight in it and carry it with pride! It reminds me of the fresh scent of an orange being peeled back while overlooking the blue azure of the ocean where I long to be today….simply gorgeous the combination of colors! Too lovely not to share! :) I did think of sending her on a Flat Stanley type of adventure for a year to friends and fellow blogettes in which recipients would record her adventures at each new destination!
TP – enjoy the Bloggers conference this week! We are all with you in spirit!

Ode to Lovely

Oh you treasure, you are divine!
Brighter than my Florida sunshine.

You will be at home here, you will see
With our persimmon sun and cerulean sea.

As we stroll, with you on my arm,
Bringing smiles to those we pass,
I will revel in the sublime euphoria,
United with my longed for love at last.

And I would be eternally delighted
If this love did not go unrequited.

If the stars deem we worthy,
You will have my care and devotion.
Your sweet song and shimmering skin
Will always brighten my darkest emotion.

And when our life’s journey together is through,
My devoted daughter will find her way to you.

Then she will stroll with you in complete elation,
And your loveliness will sustain through generations.

The last 3 years have been the most painful in my life. A death of an 18 yr. marriage I didn’t see coming… infidelity, 3 kids to try to keep together as a family, working a retail job after working in custom sewing workrooms and being able to be a stay at home mom. I’m 56, my self esteem is non existent. My therapist has suggested to me to read “The Happiness Trap” which I ordered off amazon used. So many times I look over Tracy Porter’s website, just as a mini vacation. I can’t buy. If one thing I could win, a purse, would I be able to hold my head high once more? Could one beautiful item do that? I don’t know… but it would be nice to feel that my luck would finally be changing.
thank you

Plucking this patent-leather persimmon jewel of a purse that opens to an expanse of ocean blue would definitely make up for the fact that my beloved bestowed a burrito upon me for Valentine’s Day, squelching any notion of romance… (I had the latest TP catalog out, with pages dogeared, even!) At least it was carnitas and was embellished with a heart sticker on the foil wrapper. Small pleasures, indeed.

Les anneaux de cuivre et d’argent
reluisaient sur les peaux bistrées;

La danse au chant se mariait,

d’abord indécise et timide,
plus vive ensuite et plus rapide…

Peering through borrowed opera glasses in the balcony of the crowded theater, I scan the crowd in the opposite mezzanine before the opera begins: a bald man in a vest with a watch and chain, a large woman with a daringly low-cut gown, and a plain, familiar looking young woman in a dark, demure, peter pan-collared coat. Wait…what’s that reflective glare on her lap? Good Lord, it’s a gorgeous, shiny red bag. Rather flashy for the opera, though, don’t you think? What will the refined ladies and gentlemen amongst her think? What’s that she’s getting out of the front finely stitched (oh good Lord, the inside lining is turquoise!) pocket? Lipstick! She’s going to put on lipstick! Here in the crowded theater?!?!? She slowly draws the crimson red hue across her lips and checks her look in the wide gold bangle on her wrist. Then I freeze as her eyes look straight at me and she flashes a smile that causes the orchestra to play “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”! She’s standing up, taking off her coat with reckless abandon, revealing her own brightly-colored lining. Ripples of raw joy radiate out from where she now dances; the red bag slung over one shoulder and bouncing at her side as all the opera attendees join in her dance of glee! SHE IS THE SHOW they all yearn to see! The house lights flash several times as the glockenspiel chimes. The crowd quiets down and settles in their seats, still chittering and glowing as I realize the over-sized gold-framed mirror across from me reflects the life I would be living if I WON THAT RED BAG!

The colors of this purse inspires, a long held fantasy that I have had to bring my Mother to Europe, and stroll the streets of Paris together, watching a burnished orange sunset. I can see her, with purse in arm, window shopping with me, as we duck into a small cafe for sips of Pastis, and plan a long excursion to the Louvre. My Mother leads a happy and simple lifestyle .. but I would love to wisk her away for some luxury and adventure. Perhaps, she might let me keep what ever is tucked into the pocket, as my own surprise? She has always done so much for me and I think she needs to be spoiled…as though she were a great Cosmopolitan Lady! Thanks for the dream, and the beautifully constructed purse, that would carry us away on my Mother’s first trip outside of America. (My Husband and I actually have been hoping to take her together, since his family is French.) I think the purse embodies perfection and old world style that the old photographs of European ladies walking down cobble-stone streets evokes. What a lovely, tangerine dream!

Greetings Tracy, dear!

I have been a follower of your catalog/website for only 2 years….was awe-inspired by your lighting carried by Horchow, researched you on the web and voila! Was welcomed to the world of divine inspiration and making magic of the everyday….I always had my own ritualistic specialities, which you affirmed and encouraged. Anyway, this bag makes me think of love. Of joy. Of assurance….it is bold but not overbearing….. I like it. As simple as that. Since my entre’ into your website, blog, catalog, etc….I have passed the joy onto everyone I know….sharing catalogs, gifting of your bohemian leopard slides (in particular, but among other additional treasures)to my girlfriends……indulging the soul sisters of my life with what I fancy to be whimsical and lovely…mostly from your company. It gives me great joy to show my love and loyalty through beloved tokens, as well as a good ear, a glass of wine and recounting the adventures of our days with my friends…..it is a lovely bag….and whomever it is gifted upon is extremely fortunate! It is very celebratory and joyful of you to give such a cheerful gift! It is sure to make someone’s day! Thank you for urging and nudging us all toward following our dreams and making beauty of the everyday. Warmly, Jill

Tracy- This bag is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS!!!!! Red or Orange who cares. It’s patent leather and has a lushous blue lining. I would keep it for myself. I have my high school reunion in Madrid, Spain (went to the American School of Madrid-) this summer and I would bring this bag. I would probably make the Spanards “nuts-o-hazelnut” for it. Orange is my favorite color since I was a little girl. How could this bag not make anyone look good and it says Tracy Porter. You would so be there in spirit. Could you imagine the bag at Tapas sipping Sangria or Cava. Taking it to Botins(the oldest restaurant in Madrid) or watching Flamenco. Ole! Even going to see a Real Madrid football game. Taking a coffee. And if I can get to Barcelona who knows what will happend. Buena suerta a mi! And if for any reason Spain doesn’t happen then I will be leaving my home in Los Angeles to go back to my beloved city Detroit and state Michigan to then go up north. The bag would have just as much fun in Bloomfield Hills as it would at the Grand Hotel or eating seafood on Lake Michigan.

Oh month of cold and blust’ry days
Through parting clouds sun’s gleaming rays
Doth dance on shimmering boughs displayed
As gentle breezes curls sway

Vap’rous shrills cold melts away
The sweet infusion of Earl Grey
The rustling leaves as tree do sway
All add to this enchanting day

Haunting allure and fragrant whiffs
As crystal pools in lime stone cliffs
Do glisten, flutter as wind blown mists
Neath golden curls and dancing twists

As dew drenched poppies hung by your side
A glistening sunset you dare not hide
A more stunning red I’ll never find
Like you it is one of a kind

As sun and warmth define the day
No greater gift could be displayed
This stunning purse on your side sway
My Bohemian Beauty
On this, your Birthday…

Hi Tracy,

This would definitely be a “pay if forward” gift. February 28th is my precious wife’s birthday, and the poem above is the “would be story” of my bride, Amie-Joy (with her curly blond hair and stunning blue eyes), and her “one of a kind” Tracy Porter handbag. While she was sipping on her Earl Grey tea and checking emails this afternoon, she opened her Tracy Porter email and burst into song about the most exquisite handbag that “was the color of Israeli poppies and glistened like a sunset” … I know she would never request the handbag for herself, and that is one of many qualities I admire about her. I want to be her knight in shining armor, so I am entering THE BATTLE FOR THE BAG with my poem about my wife, the bag, and why they belong together.

Is it the destination or the journey that means more to each of us? What better gift to ourselves and each other than a bag that will make the journey to the destination nothing short of lovely.

Women, the amazingly strong, beautiful creatures that we are can actually go weak in the knees for a bag?!?! For a pair of shoes?!?! For a sequined cardigan from the Tracy Catalog?!?!?! YES! We can and we do…admit it…I do.

We truly need to embrace the part of ourselves that can juggle jobs, children, parents, PTA, husbands, homes, and the list goes on and on. Yet, how often do we truly stop and let our inner princess pop out? Allow her to come out and play with us?

A bag like this would allow any one of us to look down as it rests on the chair next to us and know that we finally have a way to let the inner princess smile and wink at us with the pleasure of knowing the secrets to our strength.

Green Bay won the Superbowl….a transplant from Wisconsin to Washington DC could win this bag. She’d do the same thing she always does with new bags….a share with her mother who still lives in Wisconsin. Mom would get the bag for Easter and Mother’s day. Daughter would get the bag for the DC Summer. The bag would be sent back and forth with notes tucked in the small spots. The notes would affirm the beauty of being a woman in this amazing world. The notes would become part of the mothers legacy and the daughters gift to her children one day.

How could this bag not want to be part of that wonderful process?

Besides…the inner blue is the color of my inner princess’s eyes…also known as Judy Blue.

Every woman I know has been told about this site and just yesterday as I wore by white sequined cardigan and received no less than 20 “wow, that’s beautiful, where did you get it?” kind of comments….I was singing the praises of Tracy Porter to all who asked. Never have I had to write another womans name on any scrap of paper in the bottom of my purse as I did yesterday.

Happy Sunday, amazing women of the world.

What will be inside this purse,
A bar of chocolate, a tiny nurse?

A junkyard, a pear, a comb for my hair?
I’ll take this purse everywhere!

If I fall inside don’t look for me
A happy place is where I’ll be.

So on my tombstone please just inscribe:
Inside Tracys purse is where she died.

But that’s okay, cute patent leather,
I might have died but it was Heaven!

I’ve heard of Christmas in July, yes, but the summer sun & sky in the grey of winter? How fabulous! Some promise the moon- how does it feel to share the sun? Thank you for your generous gift and congratulations to whoever is the lucky recipient. For now we can all dream and hope; a gift in itself.
I’ll certainly spread the love far and wide (my daughters and their friends will love it!) but if the bag comes to my house, it’ll stay close to me. I’ve had purses brown, black, and grey, but somewhere inside there’s an inner Tracy in there waiting to break through the plain Jane facade. Like a great hair cut, this is the chance to change the way I see myself and the way others do, too.
Fingers crossed and singing strong!

I love colorful purses. In high school I took a giant leap and bought a lavender purple bag!! Scary- but it became that signature piece. I never looked back!! Love having that bit of color to lift my mood and spirit!! So fun!
This bag is great! As a mother of 3, I always needed a big bag- to hold my book or knitting- something to do while I wait!
Recently, I became a mom to 2 pre-schoolers as well!! What mom of 5 doesn’t need a big orange bag?? Now that is a SIGNATURE piece!!!

Tracy & all -
A splash of color is what we in the Midwest need to get us out of the winter doldrums! This beautiful – shiny – purse says it all — spring is on the way! Just imagine — I am walking down Michigan Avenue (Chicago) wearing my practical (save me from the wind and cold) black coat with a wonderful splash of color scarf around my neck — and this beautiful burst of ripe sunshine on my arm. At each corner a wind swept winter weary woman asks me where I got my great purse…..and I will say “Tracy Porter”……and will follow up with….don’t you love it I do!

P.S. The great thing about orange is that is really is a neutral so the purse and all its secrets is really a year round gem!

Orange is the color my soul is singing to this year! I am so in love! But alas, I would not keep the purse, I would give it to my bestie… She is a mommy of 4 boys, and a working woman. She has been in desperate need of a sexy sassy bag that can hold diapers, and sales contracts, all while looking so fabulous it makes your eyes hurt. The struggle for the perfect Mommy/Working woman bag has been driving her nuts for 7 months since she want back to work after having her twin boys. It is my love for her (and probably nothing else lol) that would pass the bag lovingly and not even grudgingly on to her.

Bonjour Madame Porter, oh oui I would like this shinny, very spring purse now that I can use my right arm again ( I dislocated my right elbow- of course I am right handed- when iced skating with my family during the Holidays, I never expected it to be so painful and taking forever to heal). Anyway I am using your Satchel bag -purse (the one brown/chocolate with pockets) since last year) and this is my favorite purse.
Really difficult to find the perfect purse. Or they are uggly and practical or beautiful and not practical at all. Your bags have both! Have a great Spring in CA – SB, I can see that egg hunting for Easter in the warm weather is going to be nice this year! A bientot

I would give this bag to my daughter. She is going off to college in the fall, and your beautiful bag would be wonderful for her to have. My daughter is an aspiring writer, and she also wants to pursue a career as an English professor. I could see her carrying this bag to and from the library.

We have been slowly buying things she will need for college, and this bag would be a definite help for her.

My daughter and I are close, and Tracy, the thought of her being gone next year is killing me! I feel like our family will be broken in a sense. I know I should get over it, but it’s so hard. I will try to celebrate her accomplishments rather than focusing on how much I will miss her.

The bag is lovely, and as much as I would love one for myself, my daughter needs it.

Dearest Tracyl

I have loved you since I found a beautiful wooden candle stick in a junk shop many many years ago. I have bought(and broke) several small vases. I use them, daily, but with grandkids arounds, accidents happen. I love your clothes and accessories, even though this grandma is usually in jeans and tee shirts. But I have 5 very beautiful daughters, and 1 very beautiful daughter in law. 4 are very fashionable, hard working professional women and 2 earth mothers, like me, who work just as hard. They have given me the best 10 grandkids ever. It would be a very tough decision, but I think I would give this to my 2 youngest daughters to share, the 2 earth mothers, the mothers of the 5 youngest grandchildren. While they are more comfortable in their jeans and overalls, I think this might be the spark to let them see they are as beautiful, as hard working and as loved as their older sisters.

You have done it again! What can I say, this lovely creation is simply singing out to me…….. I am beautiful, glorious, take me out into the world and spread loveliness to all!!!! The amazing combination of orange and blue…. true perfection. Orange…..tangerines, Iceland poppies, my fav sherbet, marmalade, tropical delight….so many
beautiful things come to mind. And then, here comes that delicious blue. Blue…….perfect skies, my favorite Easter egg color, Matisse paintings, Hawaiian waters, spring time has finally arrived. What true bliss!!!!
Now let’s talk about the perfect shape for a handbag, just waiting to be filled with all of my favorite girlie items, etc., etc.,. So much wonderful room to delight in. Patent leather is a perfect fabric, isn’t it. Something is endearing about it to me. It always reminds me of my childhood, Mary Jane shoes, Easter purses, slickers, rainboots. What fun!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing beauty with all of us. How lucky we are!!!!

Tracy, I am a jewelry designer and in my latest pieces I have been using combinations of either Blood-orange and Turquoise or Coral and Cobalt; then I opened my Tracy Porter email and saw this bag and my first thought was, “Well, Tracy and I are definitely singing the same tune this season!” I always show off my new designs by wearing them myself and what better showcase could I give them than to wear them while sporting this gorgeous bag on my arm? I would like to add that as a new designer it is common to look to the greats for inspiration but it is inspiring when you look to the greats and find confirmation that your own ideas were already right on target. J’adore l’orange!

A lovely citrusy jolt to the senses.
Oversized and gutsy while retaining that feminine dash. Then it opens and the turquoise reminds winter weary eyes of glorious days to come.

I must own you!
Although, I do have a few friends who might want you almost as much.

I was a bit disappointed when everyone was referring to this purse as being red. On my monitor it is a beautiful orange. What a wonderful color!! Orange will go with so much more and it really does remind me of the color of a beautiful sunset. I thank you for using such gorgeous colors in your clothes too, they just make a day brighter, happier and more fun!!

I would love to keep this bag for myself, it is my favorite to colors, the colors I will one day decorate my living room in, however I think it would be best paid forward to my mom. She was supposed to be hired back at H&R Block in Nov 09 however they laid her off instead. She hasn’t been able to find a job since then and on top of the job situation, her husband of 2 years decided he wanted someone younger and ran off with some chick from Walmart. So I think by giving her this purse, it would help boost her confidence and get her back to where I know she should be :) On a side note, I really hope you make this a purse we could buy-maybe in another color and then the orange one would still be a one of a kind :) Thanks

That gorgeous purse takes my breath away! Every time I think Tracy has outdone herself, here she comes with the next hum dinger! Whenever I wear ANYTHING Tracy, I get lots of compliments which I secretely adore, so I have shared this website with lots of friends who find it as amazing as I do. If that glorious bag were mine, I’d form a Sisterhood of the Traveling Purse and all the women I love would get to carry it (rock concert? winery? weekend with that special squeeze?) and feel sexy and self confident!

I have no fancy prose to flatter you and sweep you off your feet, so I will be plain and truthful. It is such a beautiful bag and I have never owned such an extravagant item, nor do I ever win raffles, door prizes, or contests. Despite that knowledge, I am entering the contest because the bag is incredible, and just the idea that there is the slightest chance I could win makes me smile.

I’m a busy working mom of two, and never have time or money to spend too much on myself. I have just discovered your clothing line and save up for a special item each season, so I can feel special. Best of luck to all the ladies out there,
and congratulations to the winner!

oh my GOODNESS. I will most certainly “share” this over on Facebook and on both my blogs … WOWZER. What a beauty of a bag – she looks like a big bright California orange, with a big gorgeous California blue sky inside. I’m seeing a California Poppy, our state flower – breezily swaying in front of our electric peri-blue window trim at the side of our garage. B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. And because my grandson’s initials are TP (for Trevor Paine), I will either carry the purse proudly myself (he is the 1st born of our 3 grands) OR I will gift it to his mother, my daughter Kristina. :-) Congrats to the winner, whoever (whomever?) she shall be. ~ Davielle {aka, Princess Magpie}

Just have to chime in one more time due to the fact my head is spinning on this purse! It’s like I’m in la-la land…I am imagining the ULTIMATE story teller…each time the Sisterhood Traveling Purse is carried to a special destination, the lucky lady would then place a small trinket or token from the trip inside. Mine would be a U2 concert ticket stub; my sister, no doubt a wine cork; my mom, a prayer card, my oldest daughter, token from a Bears football game, my youngest daughter, something from Nashville; and who knows what my friends would come up with! How cool would that be…Thanks for reading my day dream!

I love this bag. I’ve been searching for just the right bag. The right size, the right color, the right GLAM. It’s been a long, cold winter here in Minnesota and this bag would be such a pick-me-up! I will gladly share the message, but this bag would be all MINE. Ok, I would share it with my daughter once in awhile so she could have the Tracy experience. It will sit proudly beside me where ever I go. No words necessary, it speaks for itself. When I get “the look” it’s no doubt that it’s for my new wonderful bag. We will travel to unknown destinations in seach of love, joy, and laughter. Who knows where your bag may end up….no matter….it will be with me forever!

What an eclectic handbag – both spirited and professional! A work of art, that is also functional and ready to make a statement with the woman who knows how to be subtly bold, so as to effect change. It’s just in time to resurrect us from the gloom and harshness of winter here on the east coast. The red-orange hue is rich and vibrant, and the lustous finish lends it further passion and energy. The turquoise interior brings forth a sense of peace and comfort, reminiscent of the serenity of the sea, while the gold details and designer name provide a polished finish. This is truly a treasure that can bring a sense of vibrancy to any season. I would be tempted to hold on to it, as I’m completing my training and work with children and adolescents for whom this would surely be eye-catching and a conversation opener. Many thanks for the giveaway, and best wishes for continued inspiration and success!

Okay, going further, this bag could actually be “LIFE CHANGING”!!!!!!!

The red bag is swoon-worthy……just fabulous.
It would look great on my arm to replace my last Tracy Porter Bag (the bright green one with the orange lining) that I have “loved to pieces” by carrying it every single day for the last two years. Oh, pick me, pick me and let my green purse take a much deserved rest.

If I could share this bright beautiful bag with the world I would. I can bring it on home visits and change the boring look of the traditional black doctors bag and give it a unique flair with this non traditional bag that is also just big enough to carry all my equipment. As I am a home visiting doc and will bring cheer to my patients homes when I visit them. I understand when this bag was dreamed up a doctor was not on your mind to carry it from home to home. But just think of all the important things this bag will carry? I love making home visits and making my patients lives a little bit easier. I think this bag will enjoy it’s new job.

Tracy, you could make a bag made out of turnips look ridiculously stylish. To look at such a treasure and think “My life wouldn’t be complete until this is mine.” But outwardly say if we all can’t have this one of a kind find, please produce this fab-bag in Kelly Green and Navy to allow us all an opportunity to say out loud “My life wouldn’t be complete until this is mine,” and actually fulfill this request for spring. Please would you Tracy?

so, good luck to you ladies, rarebirds and dear durls,

my husband is scolding “you’re too ill to talk.”
but, “my fingers are working, so stop with your balk.”
“you know you can’t see with your sick, teary eyes.”
but i tell him, “i must check in with the magpies!”
“a beautiful purse is the prize they must win.
an original orange with turquoise and trim!”
he gives me that smile with a look of shagrin
and he knows this is a battle he surely won’t win.

I probably would keep it for myself as I love having different things, and none of my friends carry big bags. This bag would travel with me on my next trip.

dear tracy,
orange, the color of sunrise and sunset. anyone who knows all about your lovely little tracy porter designs must have a favorite sun watching experience whether she found it traveling to lush tropical spaces or the sweet space in her own backyard. we know why orange is to die for—it makes us happy. orange popsicle happy even when it is 5 below zero and the thought of cold may make a lesser woman shiver. but those of us who love orange know that a popsicle is possibility because it helps us transcend the cold and just for a moment be somewhere warm like maybe southern california where orange is queen. no wonder our wisconsin goddess, tracy, moved to santa barbara where she will not only make fabulous baubles and bags, she will grow oranges in her backyard.

je t’aime orange,

Or I’ll never see it again.

A daydream…..

OSCAR ACCEPTANCE SPEECH – Best Supporting Actress for TRACY PORTER’S “THE BAG”

STUNNED, elated, honored!!!!!!!! I’m weeping with joy; I’m in wonderland… I’m a Winner!!! Me!!! …. winner of Best Supporting Actress for Tracy Porter’s, “The Bag”. A film of extraordinary sartorial delight. My life’s work is now complete. I’ve reached the pinnacle, the apex, the top of the heap….. I’m queen of the hill, the mountain, even Queen of the world. I’m the Queen in the King’s Speech, I’m Queen of the Fighters… I invented Facebook… ok, I invented Facepage, but that’s another story….. And therefore my darlings, I must thank the film’s star, the one, the only, THE BAG. The Bag, that beauteous, splendiferous accoutrement — a spectacular, lustrous and shining example of handbag gloriousness… the inspiration for a film destined to increase heart palpitations of fashionistas, stylists — and probably “man-bag” guys — worldwide. And yes, THE BAG is coming home with ME! AND!!!!!!! HUGE, HUGE thanks to TRACY PORTER, my idol and the film’s creator. Big squeezy hugs to my dream friend; thank you, my fabulous Tracy, for including me in your cinematic extravaganza. Tracy! How can I explain Tracy. Such an incredible woman. Amongst running a business, a blog, a plethora of videos, a home and hearth, and the devoted mother of a tribe of small rambunctious children, this woman wrote, directed, AND produced “The Bag”. Tracy Porter, a woman whose creativity whirls and swirls through the magical corridors of fashion and film design; an ethereal woman who soars with the stars and dances with moonbeams. A stunning icon with a devoted fan base. An inspiration to us all!!!!! And finally….. my thanks to the legions who worked on this film, to my hair people, to my plastic surgeon, to the drug store who supplied my makeup, AND thanks to my undergarments who are the greatest support of all…

Love, love, the bag. I would absolutely love to surprise my mom with it. Our family has been having a tough time this past year… she broke her ankle and it’s still healing, my dad has been in a depression, but thankfully he’s doing better…and my husband is going through cancer treatments. I am NOT going for a sympathy win…but I know it would so brighten my mom’s day, and she is the QUEEN of bright colors. Oh… and she’s going on a long deserved cruise next month, and would that bag be the most awesome perfection accessory on the boat??? I say YES, YES, and YES!!!!

If I were to sing with all my pride
I would sing of This purse, yet not by MY side

For in my closet MY purses do hide
So,I would sing of this bag on Tim Wylie’s bride

For when do you see such love from a man
To open his heart to place this purse in her hand

A bag so perfect so fine and elite
Belongs to this woman as her birthday treat.

If a song of the heart wins the bag out the door
Please give my winning to #194

I am here. I have been overwhelmed…long story… I never win anything….but when I saw this purse I thought just maybe this time… The bag is beautiful. It is the perfect color for the spring and summer. I would keep it for myself and use it as a “mom bag”… ie baby items, all the things my little girls forgets that she seems to remember when we pull up to her school…for the mom things I needs to survive (brush, lotion, lipstick, tissues, etc) The best part it has Tracy’s name on it, to remind me to be “True to Myself” even in my overwhelmedness!!!! Have a good day to all..!

WOW!!! 328+ beautiful Tracy fans have responded so far? Well, I am a huge fan and I may feel a slight guilty pleasure keeping this bag all for myself….I may just have to start a “one of a kind” library system, so we can all check this bag out for a good two weeks and that would put us into next year with this many “one of a kind” ladies and gents responding and yearning for this “one of a kind” juicy and delicious bag. Since IT IS a “one of a kind and delicious bag” we may just have to do that so we can squeeze all of the juice out and drink it up! It seems to be the “healthiest” decision to me so far with this many people craving this delicious dose of Vitamin C!!! Have a wonderful and healthy day!!! This is so much fun!!! (I have a feeling this bag could end up in every nook and cranny of the WORLD!!! )

Orange crush.
Travel with me.
To Biarritz and back.
Across the pond.

Me, with wild papaya curls,
and you in glossy, patent glory.

Your purse strings have my heart strings.

Are you big enough to hold my dreams?
And all my sweet surprises . . .
A bottle of Veuve Clicquot to share,
dark chocolate, red lipstick,
my Painted Bouquet sheath to slip on
for cafe pursing and perching.

Together, we’ll riff and rave.
Bloom and blog.
Saucy stories await.
Let the wanderlust begin.

So hope this doesn’t sound tooo strange… just wanted you to know, plain and simple. Love the purse and I would keep it myself!!! Miss you back in Wisconsin!

And though I KNOW I would never give it away, I WOULD share it with my best friend, who also happens to be my SISTER and a fashion maven all her own! She is the epitome of glamor and I know she would love to own half of this bag. Choose me and you will have two, count ‘em TWO – winners in one!

Try though I may, romance is not my forte’.
My beloved has carried a leather backpack
for seven plus years-it’s been showing its wears, and brings her to tears
when she dreams of donning a new bag.
A mother of three and simpleton to me;
She never splurges for herself, rather adorning our daughter with beautiful dresses
and accessories while bearing the stresses
of motherhood like no woman I know possibly could.
I tried to uplift her fleeting fashion spirit
this past Christmas, but couldn’t come near it.
The black backpack bag, though nice-looking online, upon opening at home I could easily opine-this was not the gift I intended to find.
In quality and character it lacked a great deal, of course I now realized why the price was a steal.
The praticality of pockets was virtually null,
I knew her reaction would surely be dull.
So I returned it, and had been searching anew,
Until I saw your precious bag with beautiful red hue.
I know the need is great for a bag that does many things, but that is my wife, my life, our every thing.
I pray you may bless her and fulfill her true need;
With this dedication I’ve planted my seed.
Her sweet, substantial smile will light a room;
With this new bag on her arm, it most surely will bloom.
A hopeless romantic though I am not,
In my heart of hearts I love her a lot.

Goodnight everyone, God bless, as we lay our weary heads to rest. We pray, we hope, we dream tonight, of who will win the beautiful bag at midnight. Good luck everyone and sweet dreams. :-)

Just think of the places she’ll go! Maybe to exotic locales…like….the grocery store! (We’ll visit the waxed tangerines just long enough for them to be jealous of her slick sheen) And then, after that, who knows…the world is our oyster!…Maybe a quick jaunt to the post office. Or course, she just might have to pose for a portrait or two along the way. ‘Cause with shine that sleek…oooh-wee!…who wouldn’t want a glam shot? The mailman just might have to be revived.
