True Blue

1_6-9-11.jpg

So excited to share today.   You see, we've snuck into ROBYN's house (TRACY'S Darling SISTER)… With our cameras + beating hearts.. Just so we can share another layer of inspired bliss with you! Robyn's charming style leaves us wanting more.. You can see why she's the goddess of display + vignettes.. She happily throws treasures together in such a beautiful way. Thank you Robyn for the taste..our story today is simply our love affair with BLUE.

Do you too… LOVE BLUE….. Tell us it's TRUE…. We DO…. We DO!!

Happy Thursday all!

Sarah, Tracy + Robyn

A cherubina + a bulldog peeking from the corner of a sunlit bookshelf.   Just makes your eyes dance, doesn't it!

A little nook comes to life with a vintage book as the backdrop. (aren't you smitten)! Pull out your beautiful books and show-off their colorful charms .. No rules darlings!!

4_6-9-11.jpg
Artful poetry perched on a coffee table.   Just enough … Oh, maybe just a touch more!

Tell us what shades of blue you adore.. Are you entirely blue-struck… Or is turquoise your shade….Azure.. Cobalt..Robin's Egg… Periwinkle… Midnight….. Do tell……!!

A turquoise is my favorite color of the blue family. It reminds me of the sea, and summertime. Love the pics of Robyn’s little vignettes. I too, use antique books as a little interesting item on a table or shelf. I love the old hard bound book covers themselves, sans the dust covers. They often have some really beautiful graphics that everyone should appreciate. Have a great day. -Al

I could look at these pic’s over and over and always see something different. Robyn, you are such a wonderful stylest. I would say that I love having different color blues in my garden. I try to find flowers and leaves, trees ( Evergreens), that dominate the landscape. Then the turquoise or the colbalt color in planting vases, etc. Inside I love my Tiffany lamps with their blue glass and cachabons. Yes, T, I do have 2 buffet Tiffany lamps of a beautiful peacock, and lotus flowers. Totally your inspiration with the lovely Artesian Road Tureen in between. The orange and blues all mix together just right. Alot of my clothes are blue mixes. I live with a lot of Blue hues in my world here.

GOOD MORNING! ROBYN…YOU have the most artful touch! I can only imagine how lovely your new home must be and the store! Oh my gosh, this is just right up my alley! My daughters say every time they see anything (I DO ME ANYTHING…even an envelope) in turquoise, aqua, teal…they thing of me!!! I have collected blue and white porcelain for years….flow blue (you know my spelling is bad….is that correct?) Even Target had a beautiful collection of blue and white lamps and vases ( ala Ralph Lauren) this year….looked like my “stuff”. I look for the blue and white cookie/tea tins, platters, bowls from ENGLAND…love the faux porcelain from the tin company DAHER…good stuff to find at second hand shoppes! I really could go on and on….my mother never liked blue….one of my daughters does not either…but she seems to buy an awful lot in my turquoise theme…without even knowing it…(ha. ha) Thank you for all commenting on my gardening (if you could call it that) huge storm last night…I can see I must go out and save some of my seedlings….THANKS FOR THE EMAIL RACHEL! How did seeing your students go after the performance, were they too critical of themselves???? I know you endowed them with compliments and encouragement! Yes? In the 50s this morning here…after 95+ yesterday!

ROBYN love,
This is DELICIOUS!!!!….. If I were a ~*~ FAIRY, I would want to live with you!!! I would help the darling girl feed her pet deer and doggie, and sleep in the lampshade by the divine cobalt canvas. I would skinny dip in the teacup with the blossoms and roll in the moss. Then I would be ever so brave and devilish to yank on the bulldog tongue!!!!! lololo
Turquoise is my favorite blue, but cobalt is next in line!!

I love the blue we painted the bead board on the ceiling of my front porch. We matched it from a tiny chip we scraped off that was hidden under several other layers. It was like finding a treasure. I also love the blue of my boys’ eyes–nothing more beautiful in the world except for my other son’s green ones!

Hi again!!!! ELLE…so nice of you to ask, some kids are not showing up….summer and all, but the ones that I had are quite proud of themselves I must say, we had a great audience each show, and I guess with the incredible response they got, it boosted their confidence, but that’s good right! as long as they don’t get too divaish….then I will bring them back for sure!!!!LOL! but most of my kids are sweet!

Valery, I’ve been reading your posts about your upcoming trip. I am so excited for you. We just returned from a two-week vacation, the first week of which was spent at Disneyworld. We went to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Downtown Disney. I had been to Disneyland in L.A. many times, as I grew up out there. But I had never been to Disneyworld. You will love it to death; it is absolutely beautiful. But take along lots of lightweight, summer clothes to wear. It was hotter than you know what two weeks ago. And so humid.

From there we drove down to the Keys for a few days. Then drove back up to Miami and caught a flight to Cancun for a week. A wonderful trip to be sure, but I was glad to get back to my dry climate. Best of luck to you and your family for a most wonderful vacation!

And, Robin, I meant to comment on your photos in my last post. I don’t know where my head is. I think my brain is still on vacation. Anyway, your arrangements are magnificent. Love the rich colors. But most of all, I am in LOVE with your bulldog. He’s the most precious thing I’ve ever seen. I am now on the hunt to find one like him. Would love to see more vignettes from your beautiful home in the future. And someday, I hope to make it in to the store to meet you and your husband. How lucky are your parents to have two such talented daughters. Lucky them!

I have had a love affair with blue all my life–all shades of it. It reminds me of all things happy, the beach in particular. Can’t wait to sink my feet into the marvelous sand and take in the blue sky and water at Assateague Island, where the ponies run free!

As I type this, I am surrounded by blue~sitting in my turquoise blue family room.

Robyn, your treasures are lovely and that antique book is amazing. I don’t think I have ever seen a book cover so beautiful!

Blue is definitely the color that pulls at my heartstrings. I have a blue (robin’s egg) dining room/living room w/accents of olive green-love the mix of the two. I have a hutch that I painted a frenchy beige w/olive green inside. Then…my blue transferware and flo blue dished against the olive green is just yummy! I never get tired of my blues. I always loved looking at Robin’s house in Tracy’s videos. Would love to see more!
Have a great night all…I have ONE more half day to teach tomorrow and then I’m off for the summer. Yippee!!! Now, time to play w/my house and stuff!
